"The license manager is not functioning or is improperly installed. AutoCAD will shut down now. ADLSDK_STATUS_AUTH_PENDING 4:this product has not been registered with the licensing service yet" when launching AutoCAD

Problem:

When launching AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT 2021 the following error message is shown:

The license manager is not functioning or is improperly installed. AutoCAD will shut down now.

ADLSDK_STATUS_AUTH_PENDING

4:this product has not been registered with the licensing service yet"

Cause:

Software is not registered with the local Autodesk License Service.

 

Solution:

Follow these steps:

  1. Make sure to disable any antivirus and/or firewall temporarily.
  2. Download and extract the attached pit_files.zip in a folder of your choice.
  3. Inside, the following folders can be found:
    • AutoCAD 2020
    • AutoCAD 2021
    • AutoCAD LT 2020
    • AutoCAD LT 2021

      Within each folder you can find a file with .pit extension.

  4. Depending on your version of AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT, move the .pit file from the corresponding folder to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing\Current\helper
  5. Open Command Prompt as administrator (click Start > Type cmd > Click Run as administrator).
  6. Run one of the following commands, depending on your version of AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT.


    AutoCAD 2020


    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing\Current\helper\AdskLicensingInstHelper.exe" register -pk 001L1 -pv 2020.0.0.F -cf AutoCADConfig.pit -el US


    AutoCAD 2021


    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing\Current\helper\AdskLicensingInstHelper.exe" register -pk 001M1 -pv 2021.0.0.F -cf AutoCADConfig.pit -el US

    AutoCAD LT 2020


    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing\Current\helper\AdskLicensingInstHelper.exe" register -pk 057L1 -pv 2020.0.0.F -cf AutoCADLTConfig.pit -el US


    AutoCAD LT 2021


    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing\Current\helper\AdskLicensingInstHelper.exe" register -pk 057M1 -pv 2021.0.0.F -cf AutoCADLTConfig.pit -el US

  8. Run the software.
