TheModus Essential

The availability of a wide range of high-quality and standardised objects guarantees an increase in productivity. TheModus Essential also has a powerful system for quickly searching, selecting and loading objects. With the connection to the open Uniform Object Library*, you ensure an error-free exchange of information with manufacturers, allowing you to design and build better. This allows you to guarantee the quality of your Revit designs without investing a lot of extra money or time. With TheModus Essential you can also modify and even validate UOB objects, so to speak, sustainable BIM! The UOB, supplemented with the TheModus library (multi-disciplinary, also architectural) and the objects created by yourself (for example for special own products) give you access to a veritable arsenal of high-quality BIM objects. In addition, Essential has a smart configurator to be able to apply complex objects without having to build them yourself. BIMing has never been easier!

How do you avoid spending too much time and money on ensuring the quality of your BIM designs? Thanks to Cadac TheModus Essential, you have direct access to the Uniform Objects Library (UOB), the multidisciplinary TheModus library and any library you have set up. The UOB is an initiative of Techniek Nederland, 2ba, FME, Fedet, Ketenstandaard, ETIM-Nederland and Cadac Itannex Corporation (CIC).

With this software, you can work faster and more efficiently thanks to direct access to the most important parts for modelling; the building blocks. TheModus Essential is the gateway to these building blocks and provides access to the most important libraries:

• The open Unified Objects Library
• TheModus library
• Your own library: the Customer Library

The Uniform Object Library is based on the ETIM Classification Model:

• Product data from manufacturers. The product data is offered and maintained directly by manufacturers.
• CAD components.  CAD components are also called Template Objects, or in Autodesk Revit: the families.
• Open BIM. The UOB does not have a vendor lock-in. Objects are designed in various programs and can be found in the library. Thanks to this plug-in, they are effortless to import into your Revit design.

The UOB ensures an error-free exchange of information with manufacturers, allowing you to design and build better. Thanks to the addition of the UOB to Cadac TheModus Essential, you enable faster and more efficient work and reduce construction errors and failure costs. Are objects needed that are not (yet) included in the UOB? Don't worry, TheModus Essential also has its own library with more than 90,000 objects that can be used seamlessly in combination with the UOB objects. In addition, there may be products that you develop yourself and whose objects you regularly use in BIM designs? You create them once using the proven TheModus working method and place them in the Customer Library so that colleagues can also reuse them.

As standard, TheModus Essential also offers additional tools to mechanical modellers. With this software, they can more easily connect fittings and fittings of piping systems to each other, which can prevent error-prone and time-consuming work in the modelling phase.

Initiators of the Open Uniform Objects Library

The open Uniform Objects Library is developed by the sector and for the sector. Together with Techniek Nederland, FME, Fedet, ETIM-Nederland (via Ketenstandaard) and 2BA, the major technical service providers and important manufacturers are the driving force behind the platform. Data company 2BA is responsible for the exploitation of the object library and has collaborated with CIC (Cadac Itannex Cooperation) for the technical development.

BIM experts and engineers from various installation companies, together with product experts from manufacturers, determined the conditions that the library and software must meet. A unique condition is that the UOB is an open platform. Open stands for manufacturer and software independence.
