Autodesk BIM 360 & Construction Cloud Migration Service
There is a growing demand for the migration from Autodesk BIM 360 to Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). This shift is driven by the gradual phasing out of BIM 360 and the continued enrichment and growing user base of ACC. In addition, there is also a demand for the migration of projects between different instances of Autodesk Construction Cloud. This can be relevant when project data is part of the delivery and the contractor and owner use different ACC subscriptions. Cadac responds to this demand and offers a solution as a service for migrating data from BIM 360 to ACC. In addition, we also offer this solution for the migration of data between different ACC instances.
Cadac has developed a Migration toolkit that focuses on efficiently migrating data from both BIM 360 and ACC projects. Today's aid package offers comprehensive and proven capabilities, including:
- The migration of folders;
- Fast migration of files, including previous versions;
- Very large design files;
- The migration of custom attributes;
- The migration of project users, companies and roles;
- The migration of folder permissions.
The help package is modular, allowing the migration administrator to easily select the necessary data types (similar to a menu).
Cadac is a Platinum partner of Autodesk and by working with the development team of Autodesk Platform Services, we have optimised (and increased) the limits for the associated APIs, which significantly improves the migration speed.

To ensure successful migrations, we propose the following (simplified) plan:
- Our ACC expert organises a thorough intake of the current situation in BIM360 and ACC;
- The number of projects, files, metadata, and file sizes is assessed
- We verify the different data types and discuss expectations and possibilities
- Despite technological improvements, some manual operations may still be required - Based on this, an estimate is made of the migration effort and the time required;
- Cadac prepares the migration on the basis of the migration tool and its configuration;
- The migration is first performed on a representative test dataset;
- After acceptance of the test, the migration will be scheduled, possibly outside office hours;
- If desired, the entire migration process/project can be carried out on the basis of the 4 phases of DTAP (Develop, Test, Accept, Production) and the associated separate environments.
A detailed migration report provides clarity on the end result, including necessary metrics, verifications, and reporting of errors or warnings.
The solution makes it possible to:
- Migrate data stored in different hubs in different regions: from the US to the EU, from BIM360 to ACC, and between ACC instances;
- Infrastructure projects, which are often long-term, require migration throughout their lifecycle, which sets high performance standards for the migration process;
- Ongoing projects must continue without interruptions: the migration must take place outside of working hours, making the speed of the migration crucial.
Cadac's BIM 360 migration services offer the possibility to migrate entire projects from BIM 360 to Construction Cloud. In addition, it enables migrations of projects between different Construction Cloud instances, regardless of which region they are hosted in. The possible scenarios are:

The auxiliary package mentioned and used is powered by Cadac Connect. This is offered as part of a service. If project migrations are more common, the aid package can also be purchased via a subscription model.
