What is the Cadac Transition to Named user?

This is the change that Cadac has made to the licensing system, which involves a transition to an access system where a user has to log in with an email address + password combination. The so-called My Cadac account.


Who does this apply to?

This currently applies to users of the following Cadac software: 

Cadac TheModus

Cadac NXTdim

Cadac Organice Vault

Cadac Taskforce


*Nedgraphics software will not transfer to a new licensing system on January 1, 2023.

**This only applies to the Cadac software and not to the Autodesk software.


When will the Cadac Transition to Named user happen?

as of January 1, 2023, there will be a switch to the new licensing system. It is important that you perform a software update before this date to avoid possible downtime. see also: Where can I find the new software version?


Why is Cadac getting a new licensing system?

The current licensing system is hosted by a third party, unfortunately this system is end of life. In addition, various licensing systems (eg serial numbers, activation codes, customer reference ID) are currently active within the Cadac software.  In order to have as clear a licensing system and structure as possible, Cadac is making a consolidation and renewal process, in which we adapt the various licensing systems to the structure that Autodesk also uses for the Autodesk products.


Why do I need to update my software?

The current software still uses the old licensing mechanism that will no longer be supported from January 1, 2023. A software update is necessary to prevent you from downtime.  See also: Where can I find the new software version?


Does concurrency apply?    

HThe Named User model does not support concurrent use. In other words, each license you purchase is intended for a specific user, each with its own username + password. 


Can I log in on 1 PC within different versions at the same time?

If you have multiple versions of the software installed on 1 PC, you can use those different versions at the same time. 


Can I log in on different PCs at the same time?

In the future, a user will only be able to log in on 1 PC with his user data.


Why can't I log in?

here are several reasons for this. The most common are:

1. You have not yet created a Cadac account. Then create a Cadac account.

2. The password you entered is not correct. Click on forgot password to request a password reset link (please note, if you do not have a Cadac account yet, you will logically not receive a reset link).

3. You have not yet verified the verification email you receive from us.

Click on forgot password to request a password reset link (please note, if you do not have a Cadac account yet, you will logically not receive a reset link).

 

I have a perpetual Cadac license with an active maintenance contract, what now?

Do I need to make adjustments in my IT environment to be able to use Cadac software based on Named Use?

To ensure that a user can obtain a license, you may need to make some minor adjustments within your IT environment. For example, consider a firewall, etc.

How can I add users for Cadac Named Use software?

AEC specific

In the case of TheModus, can I log in to Revit+ AutoCAD at the same time?

Provided it takes place on 1 PC, a user can have both Revit and AutoCAD open simultaneously with the TheModus software.
