Simple and similar to streaming services such as Netflix and Spotify. A system through which we build, improve and customise our software to the needs of our users.
Advantages of Named Use
But there are more benefits. Our customers get more insight into the use of the software they have purchased. A control tool critics might say, but that is not the drive behind this change. The point is that organisations can see how frequently software is used, where and by whom in the organisation. An analysis shows that licences can then be used more efficiently. Important to monitor the cost of licences, pay for what you use and make immediate adjustments where necessary. Software may be almost as common and necessary as water from the tap and electricity from the socket; but of course it is not free. So we all want to use it as efficiently as possible.
Access via My Cadac
It will be easier for us to provide service and react quickly to any problems. And to continuously improve our software. This in turn makes us stronger as a service provider compared to our competitors.
In early 2022, we will say goodbye to the current licensing model. In the meantime, we are working hard behind the scenes on the new platform. Every customer will have its own central environment with all Cadac programmes, accessible via My Cadac. User-friendly, clear, transparent and with tools to make changes quickly. A big job which, in principle, should not cause any inconvenience to the customers. As a software company, we owe it to our standing.
Licence structure based on Autodesk
The administrative burden will be kept to a minimum. The only thing we ask from our customers later this year is to enter users' e-mail addresses and names in the personal My Cadac environment. The gain is a new clear licensing structure based on Autodesk's structure. Simpler, more transparent and constantly optimised. Without becoming one euro more expensive, to take the next step together in our journey we have named Enabling Digital.
