How to change a template file (.rte) to a Revit Project (.rvt)?

Problem:

You have a Revit template file (.rte) and want to change this to a Revit Project file (.rvt)

Solution:

Open Revit
Click [ New... ] under 'Models':
Select the desired template
or
Click [ Browse... ] and search the desired template file
Click [ OK ]
The template file is opened,
Save this file as a project (.rvt)
