Installation Inventor Professional 2024

Installation based on the downloaded version:

This manual is based on the already downloaded installation file (Create_Installer_INVPROSA_2024_English_WIN64.exe ) from your manage.autodesk.com account.

Installation sequence:

Doubleclick the: "Create_Installer_INVPROSA_2024_English_WIN64.exe" to start the installation procedure:

(The name of the installation files may differ somewhat from the given name due to licensing differences.)

Following screens appears:

Click:

• [ Open in Folder ] to start the installation manually.
  By default this will be the C:\Users\<User>\Downloads\Autodesk\Inventor Professional 2024 - (EN)\ folder.
  • Doubleclick the Setup.exe
    or
• [ Run Installer ] to start the installation.

The installation will be prepared:

When the preparation has completed, following screen appears:

Carefully read the License and services agreement.

Activate the “I agree to the Terms of Use” option

Click [ Next ]

Following screen appears :

Provide the location where the software should be installed:

By default:

for the software this is the:

 "C:\Program Files\Autodesk" folder

for the content this is the:

 "C:\ProgramData\Autodesk" folder

Click [ … ] to change the folder.

Click [ Next ]

Choose which additional components should be installed with Inventor:

Select the additional components:

• Inventor Content Libraries
• DWG TrueView 2024 – English
• Inventor Electrical Catalog Browser 2024

Klik [ Install ]

Following screen appears and wil show the installation progress:

Following screen may appear;

Choose between the options:

• [ Not now ] to proceed with your work and restart later
  or
• [ Restart ] to restart the pc. (Keep any open application/files in mind)

During installation the software can already be used:

To do so click [ Start ]

When the installation has been successful following screen appears:

Click [ Start ] to finish the installation and run Inventor Professional 2024.

Click [ X ] to close the installation and start Inventor Professional 2024 later on.

File in Use

During the installation procedure it might occur that a message is shown which 'demands' the closure of certain applications.

There are three options:

1. Choose the “Automatically close applications and attempt to restart them after setup is complete” option:
   • Click [ OK ]
2.  Choose the “Do not close applications. (A Reboot will be required.)” option:
   • Click [ OK ]
3. Click [ Ignore ]
   

For option 2 and 3 you will be prompted to restart your pc after installation:

• Click [ Yes ] to restart the pc (advised)
• Click [ No ] to restart at a later moment.
