SharePoint Search

This article contains the validation steps to be taken to validate if the SharePoint Search is installed correctly

Validation needs to take place at the:

SharePoint Central Administration

Preconditions

SharePoint is installed

Validation steps

Open the SharePoint Central Administration
Go to Application Management
Go to Manage Service Applications
Click on Search Service Application
Check for the following property values:
- Administrative Status: Running
- Recent Crawl Rate: more than 0 items per second
- Searchable items: more than 0
Check the Search Application Topology if all properties contain green check marks. Figure 1 Search Service Application overview
