Problem:
When opening AutoCAD there are no pull-down menus visible.
Cause:
Since the introduction of AutoCAD 2009 the pull-don menus are not visible by default.
Solution:
Because Autodesk does not actively support the use of pull-down menusany longer, we strongly recommend to use the Ribbon.
Learning how to work with the Ribbon beforehand gives the advantage, when Autodesk definitively unsupports/removes the pull-down menus, to already be able to use the Ribbon.
If you should decide to still use the pull-down menu's:
With the MENUBAR variable the visibility for the pull-down menus is controlled
When MENUBAR is set to 0 ; the pull-down menus are not visible (by default)
When MENUBAR is set to 1 ; the pull-down menu’s will be visible.
or
In the Quick Access Toolbar (Next to the Big Red A)
Choose 'Show Menu Bar' or 'Hide Menu Bar'.
