Validation OpenText Blazon


This article contains the Validation steps to be taken to validate if the OpenText Blazon software is installed correctly

Validation needs to take place at the: 

  • Blazon Server
  • SharePoint Server
  • DCS SharePoint site


Preconditions

  • Blazon Enterprise Server is installed on a dedicated server
  • SharePoint is installed
  • DCS is installed
  • A DCS site is available


Blazon Server

The following validation steps need to executed on a Blazon Server 


1. Open the start menu

2. Search for "Blazon Enterprise"

3. Check if the following Blazon app is available:

  • Blazon Enterprise .NET Status

4. Open the "Blazon Enterprise .NET Status.

5. Check the Job Processor Status on the Status page. This must be UP.

6. Check if the following Services are running:
- IGC Blazon Enterprise for SharePoint 2010/2013/2016
    - QueueServe.IGC JobProcessor

7. Check if there is a license file (IGCKey.lic) in the folder: "C:\Program Files (x86)\IGC\Blazon Enterprise\JobProcessor."

In here you can find the expiration date (CommonDieDate).

Note: In case of a test/demo, license the license key file will not  contain a CommonDieDate. This test/demo license will expire at the same  day as the license on the production Blazon server.



SharePoint server

The following validation steps need to executed on a SharePoint Server 

 

  1. Blazon Server Configuration
    1. Open SharePoint Central Administration
    2. Click Application Management
    3. Click Organice Document Control System
    4. Click Blazon Server Configuration
  2. URL of the Blazon Enterprise server is set to the Blazon server
  3. UNC Share is set correctly (open the share in a Windows Explorer, see screenshot)
  4. Notification Zone URL is set correctly

Validation steps DCS site

Depending on the implementation it is possible to check the functionality of Blazon. A document controller should be aware of the steps required to test the Blazon functionality. For more information on how to validate this step, please contact your Cadac functional consultant.
