This year, Autodesk Inventor celebrates its 25th year, during which we've spent a quarter of a century creating the best designs and products. In this new release, more than 142 enhancements have been implemented, carefully curated to improve the user experience, enrich the functionality and optimise the design processes. In addition, more than 1330 bug fixes have been implemented, underlining reliability and performance.
General refreshes in Inventor Professional 2025
With more contrasting component markings and refined geometric shape markings, identification becomes even easier. Enjoy better visualisation of sketch geometry and customise colour schemes with the new options in the Color Scheme Editor.
Create 3D annotation dimensions directly from selected dimensions and effortlessly place multiple decals on the same plane, without the hassle of appearance changes. Discover enhanced iLogic support with helpful new features like Before Vault Check-In, which gives you more control over your design. Customize the workflow to your preference by selecting bitmap files for ribbon buttons.
Inventor Professional 2025 also provides standard iLogic rules security scanning for a more secure authoring environment. Take advantage of technology enhancements, such as updates to the syntax editor and .NET, for optimal performance. With these enhancements, Inventor Professional 2025 makes design easier and more efficient than ever before.
Sheet Metal properties window
Discover Inventor Professional 2025's redesigned interface for sheet metal part design, making the process even more intuitive and efficient. This latest release offers a streamlined and easy-to-use user interface that improves the design workflow by placing tools in a logical order and making previously hard-to-find features easily accessible.
Finish features in Autodesk Inventor Professional 2025
Inventor 2025 continues the upward trend that began with the 2024 updates by introducing several key enhancements to component modelling capabilities, particularly to the Finish Feature functionality.
Assembly modelling
Discover the latest enhancements in assembly modelling, including essential graphical updates such as the marking of hidden parts. With customisable colour schemes, you can easily adjust the colour of all parts in your assemblies. Discover the handy new "Oriented Minimum Bounding Cylinder" option for simplifying your cylindrical envelope assemblies . Speed up the fastener placement process by creating assembly-level patterns.
Interoperability at Inventor Professional
In the Inventor 2024 release, it was already possible to make an export to Revit using the simplify tool, where export to Revit format 2023 or higher is now also possible. In Inventor 2025, it will now also be possible to import or reference the IFC format, while retaining metadata. This can be imported as a lightweight "mesh" model or as a full assembly. During this import process, preview items can be disabled.
