Problem:
Texts of DWG linked files can become unreadable once linked into a Revit model.
Cause:
If the DWG file sill uses the font ISO.shx this will be converted to Open Arial.
Solution:
Set Revit to use another Font to replace the ISO.shx from AutoCAD.
Procedure:
For each and every (un)known .shx font there should be a 'replacement' font specified.
This mcan be done in the shxfontmap.txt which can be found in the folder:
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 20** (** can be multiple versions)
Each line has the same syntax (Font.shx<tab>Fontnaam)
Like fro example:
Monotxt.shx Tahoma
Open the shxfontmap.txt with Notepad
Add the name of the AutoCAD font and enter the desired replacement Revit font.
Save and close shxfontmap.txt
Example of the default (2019) shxfontmap.txt file:
