Browser name keeps reverting back to an unwanted name when using Rename Browser Nodes and selecting Default in Inventor

Zuletzt geändert am: 31. August 2023

Issue:

Users reported that even after manually changing the occurrence or file name, the browser node name kept reverting back to an unwanted name after using Rename Browser Nodes and selecting Default in Inventor.

Status:

This incident is being investigated by Autodesk for a possible cause and resolution.

Additional Information:

The part's browser node may have not been updated correctly last time it was used.

Workaround:

Change the browser name from the part, then the correct name will be shown in the assembly:

  1. Open an assembly and place the problematic part.
  2. The browser name is shown incorrectly.
  3. Open the part.
  4. Change its browser name to a dummy name such as abcdef.
  5. In the assembly, the browser name is shown as abcdef.
  6. In the part, change the browser name to a desired one.
  7. In the assembly, the browser name is now updated to the correct name.

After this, using Rename Browser Nodes and selecting Default will always show the correct name.
