Product (lifecycle) data
Product Lifecycle Management and Product Data Management systems manage the entire lifecycle of a product from its conception, through design and manufacture, to service and disposal. Examples of PDM and PLM systems are: Dassault Enovia, PTC Windchill, Siemens PLM, and Autodesk Vault.
Sharing design information
Design and product information is typically created by CAD Engineers and managed in the PDM or PLM system. When information is final and approved, it needs to be shared and exchanged with other internal departments and external users like Purchasing, Planning and Production, or partners, suppliers and vendors. The PDM or PLM system is not always the best system to make this information available to other users, and therefore many companies choose Microsoft SharePoint as the platform for sharing and exchanging information with internal and external users and collaborating on documents.
Connecting PDM/PLM systems and SharePoint
Cadac Organice Connect is able to integrate PDM and PLM systems with SharePoint, storing and managing documents that are created in the PDM or PLM system in SharePoint and making these documents easily available to internal and external users. |
