Cadac Organice, a Microsoft Gold ISV Partner, has implemented its SharePoint-based solution for Engineering Document Management at Visser & Smit Hanab. The solution improves the decisiveness of employees and increases project insight.

Document management requires a lot of discipline
The need for document management arose several years ago. Arjan Hartman, Chief Information Management, was involved from the start. “Document management requires a lot of discipline from employees. When the first need arose, the company was simply not ready. We first had to work on document management thinking. One and a half years ago we had an urgent need because projects for Visser & Smit Hanab became bigger and more complex. At that moment we had an immediate commitment from all business units. That was the time to implement a document management system.”
Project insight and overview have increased
The company deliberately chose an external project manager, who is not only capable of supporting the selection and implementation phase, but also supports the change management process. Peter van Geel, external Project Manager: “We went looking for a solution that aligned with the work of the document controllers. We chose SharePoint and Cadac Organice, because it aligns with our Microsoft standard. Moreover, our key users prefer this solution as the most user friendly. Project insight and overview have increased substantially.” Arjan Hartman continues: “We are much more efficient in executing work processes. In addition, Document Controllers are more easily able to distribute documents.”
